In the late 80's, MP took us around the world in 80 days and now reflects back on that time. Wonderful first episode. Highly enjoyable and in many ways, quite incredible. BBC iPlayer.

Thanks - we'll make sure to watch this, as we thoroughly enjoyed his escapades first time around.

I have been watching it 'live'. BBC2? Last in the series coming up this weekend I think. Yes very good.

I watched the original ‘Around the world’ series again recently,

I had the same feeling I had when I watched it for the first time many years ago, that every episode was thoroughly interesting and enjoyable apart from the final one.

The final episode was just dull with large chunks of him doing things just to fill the time, before it all ending in a whimper.

I quite liked the episode on Full Circle of the Pacific, where it covered the whole of the USA and Canada in a single sentence, concentrating on other, more interesting parts.

Scott.
