Difficult to remember who the heck all these people are who pop up from previous episodes - just too many, too complex. I'd love to see Jen Mercurios office wall - it must be plastered with photograohs and a web of links. I wonder if he had got lost himself?

One plot hole: there's no way horrid poker face would have accepted that Jo Davidson fired the gun when she had no residue on her.

The acting in the interview, was brilliant, particularly from Kelly MacDonald and Anna Maxwell Martin who both were able to convey meaning by the slightest look or gesture. And this, of course, enabled the interview to convey one meaning, while the second "official" meaning was "all I heard was no comment". Tour de force of less is more acting from both of them.

Although I'm having trouble slotting it all together, it is still the best thing around at the moment : in fact the only thing which causes a flutter of higher pulse rate.

If "horrid poker face" is who I think you mean, then no, she didn't. Surely that was made clear in one scene when she made it known to DI Kate Fleming that she did not believe her story? "I am not stupid DI Fleming. But I am pragmatic."

That's true, - I had forgotten that - but what I was referring to the interview. She would have jumped on that lack of evidence of Jo Davidson having fired the shot: but I guess the answer is that it suited her to have her framed. We now have the distinct possibility of one of the few people left alive with evidence, being bumped off in prison.
Yes, and I was referring to Anna Maxwell Martin's character - just couldn't remember her name

Carmichael - and Ted mentioned her name about 10 times in this episode!

Is Tommy Hunter really dead? Apparently murdered in series 2 by that BENT copper letting air into his blood drip as he was recovering in hospital from the attempt on his life.

Is Thurwell actually dead or is it someone else's decomposing body with his dead wife? Strange to just use J Nesbitt's photo and not his noted gurning skills as last seen in Bloodlands.

Ted retired - Steve suspended - last 'man' standing - hmm Kate - Clearly Jo been persuaded to say she killed Pilkington - her explanation tosh - so is Kate no 4?

ps All this and trying to root out BENT politicians at the same time. C'mon Dom - give us some help.

Crunch time approaches.

Clearly there will be an almighty shootout with return of Balaclava Man (men). So who is going to hit the dust? Kate, Steve and/or Ted?

My vote for the fickle finger of fate is STEVE - one way of avoiding the drug test.

But who is H and/or 4?

Is it Thurwell - the set up in Spain as posited above and hence still alive? Or is Tommy still alive to haunt Jo?

Frankly not a clue actually.

I know...

They are all 'plants' in AC12 originally put in by Special Branch/MI5 as the security services had become aware that AC12 had been infiltrated by an OCG.

Meanwhile, 'H' has since resigned from AC12 and become head of MI5 and is now untouchable?

Remember. You heard it here first! :)

*Spoiler alert*

Can we talk about this even though some may not have watched it yet??

I felt the episode had exiting moments but the great reveal felt a little flat and curiously disatisfying. The acting was superb as usual - no complaints there. I really must watch the episode again because there are still connectioons which passed me by - the dialogue was so quick in places.

Some of the subtitled "what happened to them next" were rewarding, though.
Particularly pleased about Jo Davidson - one of those cases where script writers can work on one's moral compass. She acted the villain, but we all felt we'd like her to be treated well - or at least I did. It seems she shed her lifetime's burden and walked away with a flame haired beauty: what's not to like?

If anyone didn't see Vicky McClure and Martin Compston on Jonathan Ross it is worth catching up. They clearly have a great matedom together. I broke my usual rule on not watching the wretched Ross to see it.

Perhaps more comment later when people here have caught up.....

Yes, I kept exiting (too) ;) , to watch the snooker. I found the snooker easier to understand, though I had been watching it all the way through, unlike Line of Duty.

SPOILER ALERT.

I am unconvinced by the reports that Buckle is H. He would not have been in a position to promote OCG members to senior positions, or indeed any other job, in the Police Force. That could only come from a person more senior working in or from a Police HQ.

The ending left a number of things in the air such as the situation with H, Hastings appeal against premature retirement, Carmichael's possible links with the OCG with the weakening of AC12 and Kate's future suggesting that another series is on the cards. Bring it on.
