Motherland

One of the great joys of going away for a week to stay in a house with a Freesat dish that points straight at the huge tree in the next door neighbours garden, meaning the signal goes on and off so often to make the TV unwatchable, is that you get to search around for something to watch on iPlayer on your tablet/phone.

I have no idea why no-one has ever recommended the comedy series Motherland to me. I've seen a few trailers for the new series recently and so watched the first episodes of the 1st series from 2017 last night and just couldn't stop laughing. One of the funniest things I've seen in ages! Anna Maxwell Martin gives a very different performance to the miserable old Carmichael in Line of Duty and I see she deservedly won the BAFTA for best female comedy performance in 2018. I guess being a huge fan of Father Ted and The IT Crowd I should've known Graham Linehan was involved.

Anyway, just a heads up to others that may not have seen it before.

All the best, Si
