Tilikum was approximately 2 years old when he was captured, on 9th November 1983 from the wild and removed from his mother. Orca's are amongst the most highly socially organised mammals on earth, probably surpassing humans in their emotional capabilities.
In 2017 Tilikum passed away. This documentary attempts to understand the life he lead in captivity. Whichever level I chose to look at this it was nothing other than a tragic and sad story.
If you're interested in wildlife and value information relating to the need to keep Orca's for use in show you should find this program valuable.
Rest in peace Tilikum
