After Love

Somehow missed this film earlier this summer. It's on the BFI app - maybe also on other streaming services. Starring Joanna Scanlan of No Offence and the Thick of It fame. Set in Dover, Mary Hussain (JS) - a white woman who has become Muslim on marriage and embraced the religion - suddenly finds herself a widow following the unexpected death of her husband. A day after the burial, she discovers he had a secret. Enough said. Support cast are superb and JS deserves a BAFTA surely. Aleem Khan is is the first time director as well as writer. A wonderfully poignant movie.

Just be aware there's a film of the same name on Netflix (2016) which is completely different!
After 15 years of marriage, a couple with two kids is about to divorce. Until the husband find a new place to live, they have to cohabit, and figure out how to share their belongings.

(from Netflix)

No idea if it's any good, as I didn't see any reviews or ratings for it.
