Clickbait
Netflix. For those of you on Facebook, Instagram and general social media, dating sites etc, beware. Oh and don't let strangers log onto your computer or your phone whom you don't know or even those you do....
8 episodes and a good binge watch. 8/10. I felt sure that I had worked it out with about 5 episodes to go and I was wrong.

Re: Clickbait
To be honest I didn't care for it. The plot was fine with, as you point out, the usual twists and turns. Unfortunately I didn't think much of anything else. To me it came across as a cookie cutter money making exercise with nothing interesting or new to say. You asked!
I just watched Mare of Easttown (Netflix) which is more up my street. Kate Winslet is strong in the leading role. Much better script and acting in my opinion and a lot more going on from a character development perspective in tandem with the whodunnit storyline. It works as a whodunnit and as a drama. Very down to earth. Nothing glamorous about it at all.
Another point of differentiation between the two productions was that in Clickbait we were repeatedly reminded who was black and who was white. Race was a part of the story. In Mare of Easttown both blacks and whites were represented but were not referred to as such. I much preferred the latter approach.

Re: Clickbait
I watched it and though the story was quite gripping with some interesting twists I'd probably give it 6.5 .
The characterisations and dialogue were a bit clunky IMHO.

Yes, agree with that.
Just watching a Danish thriller, "Those that kill", BBC iPlayer and remembered the actress (Natalie Madueño) from something else I had watched a few years ago and realized it was "Follow the Money" which was pretty good and see that they have another series out on Amazon Prime.

Think I missed series 3 being released, although the best scandi windfarm related series is of course Deadwind (Netflix). https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/80243728

Re: Clickbait
SPOILER
I did enjoy Clickbait, but the issue I have is the programme makers "cheating" the viewer by showing flashbacks that turned out not to have happened in reality, but only in the mind of one of the characters.
Given that at least half the story is told in flashbacks, we need to be able to trust them.
I think the story would have held together pretty well without that part being shown as a flashback.
Scott.
