Mrs RS had things to do and was out for the last two evenings so I looked for stuff to watch on Netflix.

On Monday I finally watched Whiplash and found it to be an enjoyable if highly charged watch. Great performances from the leads and a compelling story. 8/10

On Tuesday I needed something calmer and watch Toscana, a Netflix film about a Danish chef who inherits a restaurant in Tuscany. Beautiful scenery and great food porn. Nice gentle life affirming watch. If you liked The Man in the Hat I think you'd enjoy this one. 7/10

Initially I confused "Whiplash" (2014) for "Sound of Metal" (2019) starring British actor Riz Ahmed.

I enjoyed both films ( without the need to be into "avant-garde metal" as Wiki describes the band's music in S.O.M).
