Spurred on by Macca's great set and the positive comments on the Glastonbury thread, here's 'Maybe I'm Amazed' from 46 years ago. This performance highlights what a truly great vocal range he had at his peak.

Often covers are better, this one from 50 years ago (gawd 'elp us) by The Faces - Rod Stewart in his prime, with Ronnie Lane, Ronnie Wood etc -- IMHO! --- just blows Paul McCartney out of the park. The soul, the timing, the emo of the ebb+flow, the power of it. IIRC I posted it not too long ago, but each time I hear it - just wow, 'that's a together band'

Yeah that is a really good cover - and then Rod starts and it becomes a whole other level

Elle & The Pocket Belles, who recently played at the Glastonbury Festival. I'd never heard of them until a couple of days ago when a friend sent me a link to the videos below. Their style is a mixture of swing and pop. The link below is to Swingin' Together:

Someone took Swingin' Together and dubbed it over the promotional video for the computer game "World of Warships". It works very well, helped considerably with the video having very high production values and being set on a American aircraft carrier during the Second World War. Link below:

I'm enjoying some of your song links Rowdy, but would it be possible for you to also provide a quick line of text telling us the artist and song as well, as regular naked URL links are difficult to find again if this thread is re-visited, and being able to search on some accompanying text would help a great deal with that?
Cheers,

This was released in 1973, and I can't believe I've never heard it until recently (thanks to Spotify radio).

You got it. I should have been doing that.

Re: Just Some Nice Music Thread Here...Post it Here...
I just came across this thread because of what I regard as a off topic bump.
That said, it's a great idea for a thread. I did enjoy the swing links, though swing is not really my thing.
I'm not going to start by posting acid, scar or garage links, but it's fair to say my taste is not mainstream.
Here is a more acceptable link of a song set to banjo. "No more Fu*k's to give".
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vqbk9cDX0l0
Of course having mentioned swing, here is some electric swing.

Less mainstream, if that is true. "Surprise"

A really nice jazzy sound from John Mayall, recorded live at the Fillmore East. No drums, just guitar, bass, flute/sax and harmonica. Didn't realise it was way back in '69

Really nice to just chill out to.

Eva Cassidy. She was ill when she recorded this and an absolute star still missed today. A voice so pure. She died about 25 years ago. This version is just a classic.
