Not sure what Pelosi's strategy is with Taiwan but it sure isn't making Xi happy.

She's running for President. The Taiwan visit has massively raised her profile.

Definitely. She's certainly been behaving like she's running for President or acting as the actual vice president with this trip. Her arrival in Taiwan was extremely high profile.

The Democrats aren't exactly blessed with talent and if Biden and Harris are to be eased out she could well become President shortly after this November's elections.

After all Biden was elected at age 78 when showing clear signs of senility. Pelosi is positively youthful in comparison, helped by the plastic surgeon.

Or maybe given her track record she'll start up her own hedge fund

I met her son Paul Junior once in San Francisco. Utter dickhead and womaniser. Has been investigated various times by the FBI but somehow nothing ever sticks. Wonder why?

I also met Al Gore's daughter there a few times when she was studying to be a doctor at UCSF, and she was a delight.
