Up to 25% of UK companies are classed as zombies - just kept alive by an endless supply of cheap money. It's about time they were let go:

The number of firms on the brink of going bust jumped by more than a third at the end of last year, said insolvency firm Begbies Traynor.

It expects this number to rise due to higher costs and consumers cutting back their spending.

Just anecdotally a number of small businesses have closed shop in my area just in the last year. Death of the high street will be a returning theme soon, if it ever went away.
