Oh yeah. Bring it on.

Did anyone else see the clip on the news last night about 5,000 Irish brick layers trying to get to America?

A University of Alabama football player was visiting a Yankee relative in Boston over the holidays. He went to a large party, met a pretty co-ed and was attempting to start up a conversation with the line, "Where does you go to school?"

The coed, of course, was not overly impressed with his grammar or southern drawl, but did answer his question.

"Yale," she replied.

The UA student took a big, deep breath and shouted, "WHERE DOES YOU GO TO SCHOOL"?

Pfft. I think we're supposed to try and figure it out, and get tied up in knots. Is it some aspect of 'merkin pronunciation that makes a joke? 'Merkin football slang? And who the **** says coed, and is it even acceptable slang for a girl, or could it even be some unexpected non-girl?

I think we're supposed to try and figure it out,

Here goes:

merkin
is artificial covering for pubic hair.

co-ed
I read as koo-eeeee

Yale
is a type of lock.

Boston
is in Lincolnshire

Yankee
is a bet on four or more horses to win in different races

Alabama
is a state in America. Another state in America is obesity.

party
is divided into parts of different tinctures

pretty
is attractive without being truly beautiful

co-ed
is a female student at a co-educational institution

line
means to cover the inside surface of a container or garment with a different material

overly
means excessively

school
is large group of fish or sea mammals

drawl
means to speak in a slow, lazy way

It's known that American humour differs from British humour: I can understand why :D
