When you try to prove to someone that a machine won't work, it will.
Okay, we all know that machines are inherently more diabolical, and have far greater twisted senses of humor, than we give them credit for (i.e., no matter what has "gone wrong," they will always start working when the repairman is there). But one can conjecture that they are also far less intelligent than they think they are. In that vein, here is the best answer to that one that I've heard:
You just take a photo of the repairman, attach it under the hood (of a car), or near the motherboard (of a computer), or inside the door of the fridge... you get the idea.
The machine will think the repairman is always there, and thus will work like new for years to come!
