I once had a mother in law who would say "I and you" (when using the nominative case, obviously). When challenged, she insisted that if you could say you and I, then I and you was just as valid, wasn't it?
Apart from reminding her that it was simply polite to put the other person ahead of oneself, we were always a bit stumped by that one. If there's a rule, I've long since forgotten it.
