I felt mildly disgusted by Stuttley's big thank you today. To the NHS, and the public sector in general.
OK, they may be doing a fine job. But what about all those people providing us a much more fundamental and necessary service: namely, food? Not least the low-paid supermarket workers who get it to us, while forced by the nature of their work to take all those Thou-Shalt-Not risks. Not a mention of them!
If he hadn't singled out any particular group for thanks, that would've been fine. But to exclude these folks while heaping praise on better-paid and better-equipped NHS workers was just embarrassing to hear!

Re: Thank you
For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, wait outside";
But it's "Special train for Atkins" when the trooper's on the tide,
The troopship's on the tide, my boys, the troopship's on the tide,
O it's "Special train for Atkins" when the trooper's on the tide.
R. Kipling - "Tommy"

Re: Thank you
So much has changed since Kipling's time ...
Though I'll be happy to thank Tommy if he can replenish my supply of pasta!
