In the early morning of August 5, 2001, artist Richard Ankrom and a group of friends assembled on the 4th Street bridge over the 110 freeway in Los Angeles. They had gathered to commit a crime — one Ankrom had plotted for years.

Re: Guerilla public service
Is that a 'merkin answer to Bristol, home of the Apostrophiser and Banksy?
Or is climbing the signs above the freeway more akin to Just Stop Oil?
Methinks there are elements of both ...

Re: Guerilla public service
It's easy to miss a turn on LA freeways. I have done it a few times.
It's not just ambiguous signage. There are exits to both the left and the right so you need to move left or right accordingly well in advance. The signs are supposed to indicate that need but do not always.
And moving from right to left is not necessarily trivial. As I recall where I-5 and I-405 merge in LA there is a section where the freeway has 22 lanes - 11 in each direction. You really do not want to be in the wrong lane there.
Driving in LA is fun once you get the hang of it. But if you are flying for 11 hours to LAX, hiring a car at the airport and then immediately navigating the 405 during rush hour, it can be demanding.
As for guerrilla gardening, I did that at one house of mine. There was an indeterminate strip of land between my house and the neighbour's house that was uncultivated. So I landscaped it, planted shrubs and trees and, some years later, built a fence around it, forever enshrining that land as mine.

If it was me i would have done some Guerilla gardening with cannabis plants. You can get quite good crops where there is plausible deniability. Peace of mind too of course.
