I loved this "fact":
UK charity parachute jumpers injure themselves so frequently that, for every £1 they raise for charity, they cost the public health system £13.75

That was the allegation that made me hesitant to state these were all real 'facts', hence my use of 'allegedly' in the title.

Makes me wonder how the benefit-to-charity vs cost-to-NHS balance worked out on this story I just read on the BBC...

This caught my attention:

5. There is a sport called Banzai Skydiving. You throw the parachute out of the airplane first and then jump after it.

I was told that if there were any problems with the parachute, just bring it back and they will happily swap it for another one.

The second bit of wisdom was to cross your legs...........
