Re: This is a fun way to waste three minutes
The first Animusic clip I ever saw was this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toXNVbvFXyk . And that was superb, in a Walt Disney kind of way, but the physical version we've just seen blows my socks clean off.
Except for one thing. It must have taken the guy a couple of years to build. And through all that time, the same repetitive tune must have been rattling around in his brain, 24 hours a day. Sleeping, waking, going to the pub, always the same rhymical pattern in his ears. It's a wonder he didn't go completely insane.
Then again, maybe he did? Here's what Tubular Bells did to Mike Oldfield's head. https://theweek.com/articles/502057/voi ... ields-head As I remember thinking, the first time I heard it. Sooner him than me.

Not necessarily. It's programmable: see the belt with its movable pegs in close up from 2:54 to 3:04.

the guy (Martin Molin) has built two machines and is now working of a third one....
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wintergat ... le_MachineBetween December 2014 and March 2016, the band uploaded several YouTube videos featuring Martin Molin documenting the construction of a music box that uses marbles to play instruments....
...Ten months after the debut of the original Marble Machine, the band announced their plans to make a new marble machine for the purpose of touring. The new machine, to be called "Marble Machine X", would solve a multitude of mechanical functionality problems with the original Marble Machine.... Martin Molin stopped building the MMX at the end of 2021 after realizing the design would not be robust or reliable enough to go on tour with. The first two machines have been donated to a museum for mechanical music machines in Germany called "Siegfried's Mechanical Music Cabinet" and in March 2022 he started construction of a third version.
