Apparently , the same is occurring with new pre-registered EV's filling acres of ground.

Really?
And yet there's a waiting list to get them to the doorstep over here. Is this a case of poor distribution logistics, or making the wrong ones?

Slow fat and difficult to get them to go where you wanted them to - aptly named I suppose
We had them here for almost a decade; along with a pretty useful subsidised helmet scheme (you could buy one for 5bucks almost anywhere which was great for the kids!)
Since they went the way of Boris the funds have been redirected in to some pretty decent cycling infrastructure and a few of the stations converted to pretty good service areas that actually seem to get used
