This is a personal indulgence. I have loved Lindisfarne's music since the 1970s, and all the stuff written by Alan Hull. I was fortunate to see them perform live quite a few times. The curiosity is, why not enough people know of him and his work, a guy who without enough exposure, risks fading into obscurity. This is a chance to help prevent that.
I recall on TMF mentioning Lindisfarne, and I had an off-board chat with an ex-roadie of theirs, whose wife Anna was apparently the subject of one of Alan's songs. I'd love to hear any other anecdotes concerning Lindisfarne and Alan Hull, if anyone has anything to share.

Saw the documentary on BBC Four when it was first broadcast and have watched it a number of times since. Its hard to believe it's been over 25 years since we lost Alan
No anecdotes I'm afraid, but I yield to no one in my love for Lindisfarne (the appalling '90s version of Fog on the Tyne excluded

The one with Gazza I presume ... I wasn't aware of it before and now I wish you hadn't mentioned it (and I hadn't gone to YouTube to find it)! I see what you mean ...
I only saw them once, at the Lyceum in 1971, and they started off by asking for the house lights to be turned up so everybody could see everybody and from that point on it was a big party! Lots of fun.
Thought I'd try see if I could find a reference to it and found two conflicting ones on the same date! As I know I've also seen Audience and Genesis at the Lyceum (more than once each), and I don't recall the other support bands I'm not sure which was the actual gig....

Or maybe I saw them earlier that year (and I know I've seen VDGG at the Lyceum too, only once though).
