Speak for yourself!

Well, I suppose technically RYE can go into food or drink. But I'm not about to verify it.

It seems the only answer, even if one were to allow "9"s or "0"s.

You asked for verification so here it is,

It can go into a number of foods, for example, https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/rye-bread.

One could question whether it is actually rye that you would be drinking but it is used in making American Rye Whiskey, https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/c/328 ... an-whiskey .

Don McLean thinks it can be drunk,
Bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry
And them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye...

Belated congratulations to the solvers of this puzzle. I am off to buy some rye bread. But at £50 a bottle,
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Rye Tennessee Rye Whiskey [sic] is too expensive.
