Presumably our very own moon. Otherwise they vary.

I varies, on average I think Mercury but Venus gets the closest.

At this moment in time, or do you mean which planet gets closest to earth during their orbits?

More or less, the R4 math program, answered the question.

Earth. You can't get any closer than that.

The Moon was a planet until after Copernicus. So the planet Moon is less than 500 years away. Is that nearer or farther than a few hundred million km?

Much, much further according to Special Relativity.

Venus passes nearer than Mars but a lot less hospitable hence the interest in Mars. Mercury has a very eccentric orbit I believe so can be near or far depending on when you ask. Like Venus, Mercury is also not a nice place for a gad about.

The moon is a satellite, not a planet. Mars is my guess.

[Edit] Video not available. Google suggests that, on average, its Mercury.

Stupid me. Thank you.

That was my first thought but, not including Earth, I reckon the answer is a teapot.
