A fascinating hour-long video tour of SpaceX's Starbase Factory, where Elon Musk explains to YouTube's 'Everyday Astronaut' how his latest rockets and facilities work -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t705r8ICkRw

I've got to say that in the flesh, Musk always comes across as a highly intelligent and very engaging guy, and it must be absolutely superb to be in this area of Space engineering and get a chance to work for someone with so much passion for a project, and the money to fund it...

The above video is Part 1 of a three-part series.

Also, here's a recent video of the Super Heavy Booster 4 being lifted onto the Orbital Launch Pad -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qRZDE4RT_A

Some impressive kit, with a view on 12-mins of the huge number of Raptor engines on the thing...

Probably not too long to wait now for the Orbital launch date...,

Cheers,

Itsallaguess

Kia/Hyundai: 16.4%
Stellantis: 7(?)%
Renault/Nissan: 6.9%

Tesla@ 0.1%

From the linked article:

When Tesla receives an international shipment to the UK (typically towards the last month of each quarter), their BEVs take almost one third of the entire UK BEV market, and give a big boost to the UK’s plugin market share in that month.

Obviously the flip side is that in Tesla’s off-months, like July, the UK’s available BEV volume, and thus BEV market share (and combined plugins share), hits a temporary trough.

Regards,

From last month, unlikely to be improved by this months sales:

Top models

In June, the volume deliveries of the Tesla Model 3 (as usual in the last month of a quarter) resulted in a very strong result of 5,468 registrations, which is the best result overall.

The Model 3 is not yet in the top 10 year-to-date, which means it must be below 15,124. What we know is that with 6,585 units in March, the Model 3 is at no less than 12,053.

VW's BEV sales for July appear to have been in the region of 3,250. Selling twice as many one third as often is just another way of selling fewer.

As a relatively new driver, I first encountered the magic roundabout about 40 years ago.
I was feeling rather proud that I had made it through the roundabout unscathed, until I realised that I had not managed to get to my intended exit......

One has to assume that in the absence of the Cybertruck, the Roadster, the Semi, and the model X more dino juice frog boilers are going to be hitting the roads to replace the models Tesla fails to bring to market. I think the word which used to be used to describe announcing lots of models but not actually releasing them was vaporware...

There are often questions on how much of the Tesla battery pass will be recycled. In the recent impact report:

https://www.tesla.com/es_mx/impact-report/2020

Tesla say that up to 92% reuse of raw materials from Tesla batteries, but little actual data as very few Tesla batteries have reached the end of their life, even from the first model S models.

The impact report contains a ton of other interesting stuff regarding Tesla cars.

The full 94 page impact report is here:

https://www.tesla.com/ns_videos/2020-te ... report.pdf

Well worth perusing.

Climate change report:

https://www.ipcc.ch/report/ar6/wg1/down ... Report.pdf

This is a huge document that cites many experiment observations, often over centuries of measurement, of how the climate has changed and how these changes correlate with human activity.

There is much in here that could be used by politicians as a rational to raise carbon taxes and accelerate the move to BEV powered by renewable energy.

The document is strongly supportive of a much higher equity price for Tesla.

Part 3 of Starship launchpad tour with Elon Musk (20 mins 51):

https://youtu.be/9Zlnbs-NBUI

Quite extraordinary to see the hustle and bustle of making and moving very large and very heavy stuff about quickly. Elon Musk looked exhausted and has said he was troubled with a bad back as well as lack of sleep, but he kept his cool with the relentless questions from Everyday astronaut and the many questions from his employees who are all as fired up and relentless pushing forwards as he is. This level of energy and get go is nothing like my experience working on various scientific projects where everything went very slowly.
