Elon Musk interviewed by Lex Friedman with some excellent sections. His comments on fsd, if you have some technical knowledge, give a nice insight into how they are advancing it. There is a useful time line in the description:

Tesco to begin UK’s first commercial use of fully electric HGVs

Two 37-tonne lorries will transport goods from a rail freight terminal in Cardiff to the company’s hub in Magor, about 30 miles away, from January.

The vehicles can travel about 100 miles on a single charge, making the relatively short distance of the round trip an ideal route to test how further vehicles could be rolled out in the fleet, Britain’s biggest supermarket said.

The first two, from the Dutch manufacturer DAF, are expected to make about 65,000 miles of haulage journeys otherwise made by diesel vehicles, cutting an estimated 87.4 tonnes of CO2 emissions a year.

You might need to explain that concept for the Teslarati amongst us....

Not bad to go from a piece of paper to a functioning factory with your own battery design, an order book worth 10's of billions from across the industry, having sold half a JV with VW and inked another with Volvo in 6 years.

While your at it, you might like to explain to the UK government that there is a difference between saying the UK will be a leader in battery tech and making it a reality.

Yes, but accepting with grace and serenity destroys all the fun of a good rant and tends not to work well. Ask leaders of the opposition who adopted this philosophy.

Yes, it is good. I linked it a day ago, further back in the thread.

The discussion on AI is outstanding, but I thought they might also discuss the delays to Starship launch, but this might be too controversial & potentially dangerous to SpaceX.

Fabulous production numbers fromTesla:

https://ir.tesla.com/press-release/tesl ... deliveries

q4 305,840 produced

2021 930,422 produced.

Current yearly run rate without giga Berlin or giga Texas is 4x305,840 = 1,223,360 cars, suggesting that once the two new factories start to ramp that production will soon run through 2 million cars per year.

Ironic that the German politicians allows IG Metall to work, but stop the people who would be potential recruits for IG Metall from working.
