Russian Rouble

Interesting that the Rouble has strengthened against all major currencies ($, £, Eur) since Russia invaded Ukraine:

(select currency of interest and select maximum range)

The Rouble has returned to levels not seen since 2014.

On this parameter, Russia's invasion of Ukraine seems to be helping their economy as imports now cost less than before the war and exports from Russia to other countries cost more.

This has all happened despite a strong sanctions regime from the West, suggesting that the West is far from as powerful as its politicians like to think.

Regards,
