Ratesetter oddness...can't set rate!

#245873

Postby AleisterCrowley » August 20th, 2019, 10:44 pm

Just been checking my Ratesetter account, and things seem to have changed.
I have two sums sat on the 1 yr market at different rates. I thought I'd drop the rate on one of them a bit to try and get it earning, but I don't seem to be able to change the rate on one of the sums in isolation- it forcing me to change the whole 'bundle'
Worse, I don't seem to be able to set my own rate for existing or new investments - it seems to force selection of one of three options (Last matched, Lender queue, Front of queue)

Is this a new policy, or finger trouble on my part ?
Seems a bit odd that Ratesetter isn't allowing one to, erm, set the rate....

You can still set the rate on a new investment, once an amount is invested you can't change the rate until the contract is completed. i.e. set it to go to the holding account on completion at the end of the month/year and then re-invest at your chosen rate.

Have you tried recently? I just set up a new investment and the 'set your own rate' option wasn't there as far as I could tell

Select the relevant market in the Your Lending page, then click the little pencil above the market buttons....

Ah thanks, that works for new money (although not obvious in the new format)
Still can't tweak the rates of 'On Market' funds though - something I could do previously

You can change the rate for money that's on the market but not matched. In Your Porfolio on the relevant row, if there is money that is On Market, there should be a red pencil (edit) and a red X (Cancel). As far as I can tell, you should be able to change the rate here - I couldn't test it as the money I have On Market has already been matched (waiting for the loan to be formed).

No, I get a Change your unmatched money screen which bundles together all unmatched sums, and only allows one of three options :(Last matched, Lender queue, Front of queue)

Hi

I thought there was a way (Select product eg 1 Year from Your Portfolio and click on Unmatched). This lists all the individual amounts offered for loan with a change button against each. However, having tried it, they simply take you to the same change all or nothing page.

I'm not happy with the recent "upgrades" which seem designed to make it as difficult as possible to set your own rates and to "encourage" people to use the lowest rate available.

Yes agree, it seems to be impossible to 'tweak' on-market sums
Conspiracy or cock-up?

It seems to be 'back to normal' now, and I can tweak the rates for on market loans, which is good.
I did give them some feedback re the changes-hopefully enough people moaned and they relented :-)
