Brokers for retail options traders

I see Goseigen has started an options thread but I thought this might be better as a stand alone. A topic on brokers for retail would be useful long term alongside an options board like the old TMF.

I had held an account with Sucden for many years and migrated to ADM when they transferred their retail clients. Unfortunately I now have notification they ADM plan to stop accepting non cash margin ie they will no longer allow you to lodge shares as a form of margin. I tend to not keep a large cash balance but like the assuramce of having a large margin facility that is unused to ensure I don't get caught with margin calls. I mostly trade FTSE100 and a few UK equities usually selling puts, strangles and the occassional call. Can anyone suggest other brokers who could facilitate this type of trading. I do value the option of speaking to someone on the phone although I accept this may no longer be an option.
