What sort of percentages should one have in different regions? I know there isn't definite answer and everyone will think differently.

Take a look at the AIC web site, https://www.theaic.co.uk/aic/find-compa ... -companies, and perform a search for global investment companies. By looking at the geographical spread of their individual investments you will find the information that you would appear to seek.

As a VERY broad generalisation, if you seek higher income you will tend to have a higher UK allocation, more growth orientation usually leads to more non-UK.

Some commentators favour a world tracker - such as VWRL (Vanguard) ,which tracks the FTSE All World Index
