I've recently been re-reading Maeve Binchy books and when I came to the end of my collection asked 'kindle' to find similar authors. I like to read before bed and find these types of stories relaxing. Kindle came up with 'O'Maras guest house series'. I've enjoyed the first couple of books, not up to Binchy standard but pleasant enough but 'The Mammy' character was getting on my nerves because I felt I'd come across her before and then it dawned on me - Brendan O'Carroll as the obnoxious Agnes Brown. I can't read anymore of the books because every time this character appears my mind switches to Mrs. Brown, the character is spot on for Maureen O'Mara along with the language and the certainty that she is always right!
