Sabine finds that there is no statistically significant connection between the California wild fires & climate change (7 minutes, but last 1.5 influencer for vpn):

No "Other" option, so need to say "Yes" to "life including man made". Unless somebody has included a maths mistake in their model, which means it's entirely man made. Have fun, having great weather for a change.

Um... It's a 'Private Video'. So, No Comment. You'd need to describe it in outline at least for anything more.

What is her statistical significance measuring? Correlation of climate change (measured how - global temperature records?) with number of Californian wild fires, or intensity of fires? Or both?

An interesting & clear discussion.

When I saw it, the video was public, so not sure what is going on, or if Sabine has commented elsewhere.

I wish people wouldn't quote stuff from X on here. It's worthless.

Erm...

Sorry, odysseus2000, but I don't do 'X'. So her reasons for the video's removal are as opaque to me as the removed video. :)

Estimates of X value are around $10 billion, not the $44 billion he paid, but not worthless.

Moreover, I now use X for most of my research including climate science, so it’s super valuable to me.

From October 27th 2022 to present date, even after taking into account the recent falls, Musk's $44 billion would be worth about $63 billion if he'd bunged it in an S&P500 tracker. And with Twitter worth about $10 billion now, he's $53 billion notes down.

What a penarse.

Yes, but had he not bought Twitter we may have ended up with a different president who might have decided that Musk was an enemy of the State & thrown him in jail or worse.

$63 billion compared to potential jail time or death, seems like a bargain, especially as X continues to develop influence & power. It would not surprise me if X became the most valuable property in Elon’s portfolio. It was certainly important in getting President Trump elected, which Musk argues has saved democracy.

The decision was his, the paper loss his & he seems happy & is one of the most important advisors in Trump’s cabinet & will likely steer Trump towards renewable energy & electric cars. Woukd he rather have $63b or be where he is now?
