Thanks both - looks like the 1600-1800 slot. I'll aim for the middle, 1h15 after sunset but before it gets lost in the ground clutter
It will, of course, be cloudy tomorrow

I think I did spot it (them?) tonight but too low, and the moon was dominant

I saw both tonight. Jupiter was easy to pick up around 16.45 ish. After locating Saturn in binoculars first, I found it with the naked eye, still quite distinct from Jupiter and in a direction of about 11 o'clock from it - much fainter, though. Direction, about SSW

It was raining with us last night, so didn't see the conjunction. Did anyone have any luck ?
Did manage to get a nice moon shot the previous evening though.

I thought I'd be in luck today
- crossing the Bass Straight on the ferry leaving at 7pm
- so there's unlikely to be much light pollution and I've brought the binoculars

But it's so rough and windy they've closed the doors and we're not allowed on deck
- and we've not even left the bay yet :shock:
