Wind turbines: How UK wants to become 'Saudi Arabia of wind'
Some very impressive stats in this short 2 minute video. Noting that Siemens who make the blades are based in Hull are have brought much needed employment to the city.

And insofar as they are subsidised, there will be more emphasis on UK content https://www.power-technology.com/news/industry-news/uk-government-strip-subsidy-cfd-offshore-wind-supply-chain/
The UK Government has confirmed plans to remove subsidies for offshore wind development from companies unless they use British manufacturers.
Good... won't mention Brexit... the tapering of subsidies will eventually make the renewables sector investible, from my pov.
And I infinitely prefer these things out of sight, out at sea.

I was thinking something like a toilet ballcock arrangement(or several of them sprouting out from the base of the turbine) or a buoy chained to the base of the turbine and linked to a generator (I'm not a technical person, so apologies). More bang for your buck.
I think wave energy is harder than you think. Prototypes have been destroyed in stormy weather. A wave generator must be flexible with considerable freedom of movement. To withstand bad weather it must be rigid and sturdy. There's a conflict.
