Darwin showed how worms display intelligence and I have had honey bees eat their way through pla 3d printed grafting cups to escape from a bee breeding box and on other occassions I have had honey bees use ingenious methods to get to frames of honey I have removed from their hives and thought I had them safely in bee proof boxes. Bees also show inquisitive behaviour and the ability to find ways to sting bee keepers wearing bee suits. In observation hives one can often see honey bees walking around, doing nothing in particular as though they are exploring their home.
