Could I ask theists what God was doing in all the years that this little girl was being tortured?

Why not any of the other kids that suffered or continue too. Why not adults too, some of them suffer.
Maybe God sent the evidence and helped put the team together to get the conviction.
Still, thunderbolts raining down sound good but where do we draw the line 31 in a 30 zone.

Re: Sara Sharif
Irrespective of God's involvement (or not), father Urfan Sharif, stepmother Beinash Batool and uncle Faisal Malik will very soon be finding out what man can do: other inmates are known to give corrective guidance to those who abuse children, and Urfan Sharif in particular will experience 40 years of this, perhaps to an extent that a State oubliette would be preferable accommodation.
It doesn't strain my Christian spirit of forgiveness one iota to hope fervently that eventually he rots in Hell.

I'm quite good at reversing that act.

Re: Sara Sharif
I see in BBC News online that the poor girl's father Urfan Sharif, now in Belmarsh prison, has already had his throat slashed with part of a tuna can.
This was undoubtedly accidental - "The tin slipped, Guv" - and in no way connected with prison inmates' loathing for those who abuse children.
I trust that his throat will have time to heal before any further accidents, but I wouldn't bank on it.
He has only 40 years (minimum) of this to go, and he may eventually find it preferable to follow Fred West's example.
