£800 house party fines

#379417

Postby terminal7 » January 21st, 2021, 5:48 pm

. . for people attending parties of 15 and above. Someone tell me why 15 and not restricted to the people in your 'bubble' up to say 5/6.

Now we going to have loads of parties of 14 people (in shifts maybe).

Ive seen silly comments in the media on this along the lines of its OK for house parties of 14 then. Its probable the same media who "dont understand" the rules or "the rules are not really clear" etc.

Yes you can read it "stupidly" and take away the "wrong interpretation"

Whereas most normal people know that the rules dont allow any house parties including under 15 people and that there are fines but are now even bigger allowable fines if there are now 15+ people. What is hard to understand about minimising contact?

Reminds me of the fellow who was asked politely by the police to refrain from allowing his son to rag round the nature reserve on his mini motorbike. If he packed up his stuff and said Im sorry officer I didnt know etc etc that would have been the end of it.

Instead, he got on his high horse, ranting about his childs new birthday present, didnt see any harm in the damage he was causing Etc etc.

Two hours later the bike was confiscated and destroyed and he had several vehicle violations including no tax and bald tires.

Attitude is a big part of it, I suspect.

Do we think that Mrs Patel is trying to assert herself and will finally be allowed to police things in order to save lives?

Quite possibly a bigger fine for bigger gatherings makes sense because the fine is probably shared out anyway with the result that the cost per capita was ever decreasing the bigger the party got, so in for a penny and all that.

I think you will find that it is £800 per head for attendees and £10000 for organisers.

Plus confiscation of PA/audio equipment? (A genuine question not an assertion/correction.)

If that is the case that sounds very sensible.
