I was taking today to someone who runs a UK ‘carer’ agency for those who need personal care in the home. He mentioned one oddity that had never occurred to me: his black patients – by whom I think he meant African or Afro-Caribbean (he himself is Zimbabwean) – expect to be creamed extensively after a bed-bath whereas his white patients never are, apart from any specific dry or scaly areas of skin that need attention.
Is this as well-known difference?
