Civitas/ShadowFall Spat & Resulting Share Price Fall

Hello

I'd be interested in views from anyone familiar with this. The share price has taken a fair knock as a result of the ShadowFall criticisms. Feels to me like a buying opportunity for a REIT I was already watching. I'm struggling to see how the income is under serious threat given the shortage of social housing and supported living.

Anyone holding/buying or has any useful input?

Maybe you could post a few links? Civitas will be familiar to many here, although rather fewer may hold. (I don't myself.) But the ShadowFall stuff is a mystery.

I own Civitas.

For those who don't know there have been questions raised about corporate governence that are questions rather than being hard and fast rules. As a share holder I am concerned, but still hold my shares.*

There has also been concerns raised about how secure the income they receive is. This has got me looking at myself in the mirror. How much research did I do and am I comfortable with myself over these questions. The questions themselves are less of an issue, more it is the aspect that I hadn't seen those issues. So far the concerns have proven to not be born out by events.

I would like to think that they are still a great investment, but I'm not sure that I would recommend them.

FWIW, I am still holding my shares.

By the way, I have not read Shadowfall's "open" letter. Apparently I have to agree to a lot of terms on their website and give them my email address to read it.

*There is some suggestion that board members are at least personally benefiting from board decisions, the response is that the company also benefits. Which could obviously be true, but does raise questions as to the intention of their actions.
