Hello
Does anyone know where I can get reliable p/e ratios and dividend yields for indices as a whole? e.g. the FTSE 100 index. Where I can find them online they seem to have wildly different values for the same metric. For example Bloomberg has the FTSE 100 index p/e ratio as 16.9 as of now whereas a recent edition of Investors Chronicle has it at 11.4.
Thanks
Ron

reliable yields - here's a good site. (click on the 'right arrows' to give more info) - the site has the FTSE100 at a yield of 4.52%.

If you Google for "World Markets at a glance" it will lead you to the latest table from the FT as a PDF FILE
On the left hand side, part way down, you will see FTSE actuaries share indices. They show the latest sterling based values of each index, the two preceding business days, the change on the day, the value a year ago, yield, dividend cover, P/E ratio, XD adjustment and finally the value of the TR version of the index.
