My first instinct when reading this topic was, having seen it asked no question, to move it to somewhere more appropriate. I checked around to see if we had either a forum for reference material or for the relatively uninitiated, who might find a list such as this particularly useful.

Unfortunately I didn't find a suitable forum (maybe I just overlooked one though). In order to avoid clutter there is a certain resistance to opening up new forums, but I feel we could do with one for those seeking some basic way-in to investing. I'll ask.
