Glasgow to Greenock

#11529

Postby nowretired » December 3rd, 2016, 4:20 pm

I'm thinking of going on a cruise leaving from Greenock, however the round trip if someone took me there and picked me up is over 400 miles. 100 there and 100 back twice.

Someone suggested the bus as it will be free for me, so how easy and what bus from where in Glasgow to Greenock should I get?

Getting to Glasgow by bus is OK.

I've no experience of Scottish buses, but I like their train system.

Glasgow central to Greenock central for £6.30, 41 minutes

If you have a Scottish bus pass and are arriving at Buchanan Bus Station it is an easy change for Greenock.
Mcgills provide a good service and their 901/906/907 will get you there.

My wife has decided that it is too much hassle to get the bus to Greenock (to old she says) is there anywhere near the cruise terminal that I can park for free?

If not I will just wait until Sept/Oct and leave from Rosyth.
