I have the Microsoft Excel app on my iPad.
When I open the app, it automatically opens the last spreadsheet I was looking at.
DAK how to stop this automatic action?
Thanks.

I don't have access to the software to try this, but it may be worth a try to work-around the issue by opening/creating a new file before closing the app.

I also don't have the app
But on the full fat version under File->Options->Advanced there is an AtStartup configuration option
There might be a similar option wherever the settings are stored for the IOS version?

Re: Excel for iPad
Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be an obvious solution on my iPad. I checked settings with no luck.

Re: Excel for iPad
It is one of the things that really irritates me about the Ipad, that you cannot close applications without rebooting the machine. With Android it is easy to 'close all' without having to turn the machine off.
So I guess when you select Excel on your Ipad it is simply restoring it to your screen exactly as it was when you last used it.

You can close apps on an iPad by double-clicking the Home button and swiping the apps up to the top of the screen.

Only one at a time. There is no option to close all apps (that I have found anyway!). With Android there is a close all option
