Missing in action- supermarket items
Well, the following seem to have been out of stock for months, everywhere I look
BioTex pre wash powder
Little Willies vegetarian sausages (the other Vegetarian Butcher stuff is still there)
Imperial Leather talcum powder
"Supply chain" or something else?

Talcum powder has been a problem for a long time. Can't remember why but I think it's permanent.

I know the (inevitably) US law suits are/were dragging on but it's odd that talc (well, Imperial Leather in the red package) just disappeared, with no product recall/explanation...
It's PZ Cussons I think - I may email

Also, there is a problem again with tissue paper. In the gigantic Tesco in Newbury the other day, no boxes of tissues. Not even an empty space in the aisle where they ought to be. "Sorry sir, we don't sell them any more." Eh??!!
Waitrose was a bit better. At least they had a 3m stretch of empty shelf where they should have been.
Same with Wrights packs of crusty white bread mix. Vanished off the face of the earth. Yes I know I can weight out my own flour, yeast etc but I'm SO lazy....
(Speeling edit.)

I'm quite a regular at Newbury Waitrose, so watch out....
Although I have transferred my allegiance somewhat to the smaller one in Caversham, as it's near a really good pub

Maybe they have gone the same way as small and medium sized condoms? Have you tried Big Willies vegetarian sausages old bean? C.AleisterCrowley wrote:Little Willies vegetarian sausages (the other Vegetarian Butcher stuff is still there)

No medium or large Willies available either.
I think they are Dutch, so maybe they have capped exports out of spite?

The very place. Lennon and McCartney worked behind the bar there for a while and performed a gig as a duo before they formed the other band

Really?!! Dammit I missed that.
Mind you I was probably only about 8.
Re pubs and shopping, I find this really difficult. Does one shop first and risk leaving it in the pub? Or does one pub first then stagger around Waitrose breathing beer breath over everyone...?

Re: Missing in action- supermarket items
If I'm combining a trip to the F&H with Waitrose, it's Waitrose first
Generally small stuff so it'll go in my rucksack, or in one 'bag for life'. I haven't left it behind yet...
I'm going to try the Treble one night - Waitrose, Fox&Hounds, then fish and chips from Wings before staggering home over the meadow

As worn by the wee fella that stuck his finger in the dyke?
I imagine they might have them in the suncare section; have you tried Boots?

Boots? Yes I have, but their contraceptive value was always questionable. And they kept falling off, you see. Very embarrassing. Maybe it would have been different if I'd bought a seven instead of an eleven?

I remember when spurs were fashionable in Glasgow
- you could buy them in the Savoy center
- turned any boots in to contraceptives as far as I can recall from those I knew who wore them
All I can remember of those days about boots was being allergic to them; if I slept with them on I'd wake up with a huge headache

ps: if anyone of a literal bent is about to start a discussion re the above... half of it is a joke about a correlation v cause fallacy
- the other bit about not getting a lumber because of your footwear is true (I think - although the chap was also called Jeremy and living in Glasgow so it's quite tricky to normalize the dataset)
