Using UK Stamps For Overseas Postage

#11833

Postby penym » December 4th, 2016, 6:23 pm

I have quite a lot of 1st class stamps which are always valid although they not the most recent ones. I believe that 1st Class now cost 69p. I have read I can use these stamps on letters or cards addressed to Australia provided the value is correct.

Can any Lemon advise me about this?

Yes, you can use them towards the costs of the postage.

First class is presently 64p. You can check the prices, including weights and sizes here:

Australia is in World Zone 2. If the letter is under 20g you'll cover the economy cost of 90p by using two first class stamps. If the letter is under 20g= - 100g you'll cover the economy cost of £1.37p by using three first class stamps!
