Business closedowns because of covid patient?

#324561

Postby didds » July 8th, 2020, 11:43 am

Just seen this on twitter "I see one man in Somerset who has tested positive for COVID has forced the shut down of a pub, a restaurant and vape bar."

Straight DAK question here...

Is this actually the case?

If person X visits a pub P for one hour on a Tuesday afternoon (say) , and shortly afterwards develops Covid19 - does P have to close entirely?

cheers

The local BBC news was interviewing the landlady last night - it seems she was not obliged to shut the premises, but did so out of (a) concern for her customers or (b) the positive publicity that she's be getting.

Either way, as an exercise in damage limitation I'd say it was a good move. Will engender trust in her careful management. Which may prove to be a valuable commodity.
