Re: A3 printer recommendations?
We have a brother a3 printer mfc-j6930dw which we've been happy with. Sometimes it can be on offer for little over £250 but I can't see it available at the moment. I think Brother printers are cheap but functional. There are lower models that still do A3. Our does A3 duplex scanning. If you only want b&w it could be worth looking at laser printers.

Good question. It depends whether I use it as my main A4 printer too or as a specialised one for printing just A3. The former would average around 10 to 20 per day probably. The latter would be maybe 10 to 20 per month.

Re: A3 printer recommendations?
Hi Mr C,
I can't give you straight answer as this revolves around budget and convenience. You probably know all this but I'll go over it anyway as it may help others too.
A couple of years ago we purchased a Cannon A4 printer for our daughter. It's wasn't cheap. But as it doesn't use cartridges it's very cheap on ink. Which in the long run makes it far more cost effective than a cartridge style printer. Indeed we haven't purchased any ink for it other than the original purchase. It seems to go on printing forever. It scans too.
But when "one" applies that to an A3 printer that does both A4 & A3 the costs of purchase seem to mount in- proportionately. Which is why we didn't go for the A3 printer.
Which doesn't really help you does it.
I'd strongly suggest buying ink refill printers. Upfront costs are steep but the running costs are minimal and will make the initial purchase more effective.
I did a quick bit of Googling (Sorry Duckduckgo) and came up with this as an example of where you might want to start looking further.
Canon PIXMA iX6850 A3 Wireless Wi-Fi Office A3+ Air Printer + 3 Set of XL Inks £216.77.
Could be that two separate printers work out more costs effective?
Take care Mr C

Re: A3 printer recommendations?
I bought a cheap brother A3 printer. It does work, but I wanted to mention what's wrong with it to give you some points to consider. The cheaper models only support manual feed of A3 paper, which is a pain, especially if you want to use it more than trivially. The other issue: Printing A3 takes up A LOT of desk space.

Re: A3 printer recommendations?
I bought: Epson WorkForce WF-7710DWF
Not a fan of inkjet printers but I wanted a colour A3 printer for some odd jobs and printing pictures.
It was under £200 at Argos when I got it. Shop around.
Good printer. Ink not too expensive.
BUT - like ALL inkjets you need to print a test page about once a week or it all dries up.
I have a black laser printer that I use most of the time.
