about a million years ago (70s Id imagine, maybe early 80s) I read a cricket book - and I seem to think it was by somebody reasonably well known, at least in the 70s ... ex player, jhournalist maybe? summat like that ... it wasnt a "new" book either so published post war im sure
The book's premise was that multi-day, two innings first class games were "wrong" and that first class cricket inluding tests should all be one day games like club cricketers play (not necessarily stipulated ovwers eg 50 a side, more like declare at tea and the oppo have half an hour less than you type arrangement - club cricketers will be aware of that concept)
Does this ring any bells with anybody? I appreciate this is somewhat woolly, and was undoutbtedly somewhat of a fringe nature!
