I live in a flat in a mansion block which was build around 1900. My telephone cable runs through a GPO 52A junction box which sits just outside my flat. The screw which secures the junction box top cover is missing. Does anyone know how I can find out the size of the screw?
Many thanks

Is it a similar size to the screws used to fasten a mains socket/light switch? (possibly M3.5)

No, but I can tell you it won't be metric.
As with all older items, eBay is your friend.
Here for instance, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/295032915206?hash=item44b1550506:g:T0UAAOSw441ipGeO just buy a box and use the cover.
