Moderator Abuse of Power
Ok, slightly OTT title (!) but once a moderator has locked a thread no other moderator should use their mod ability to add their own (non-moderation) comment to the discussion in the thread. That's just taking the p. Once locked, locked for all.

I noticed that as well, although i thought the contribution was reasonable.
Personally I am more worried about the fact that criticism of France or the French does not appear to be allowed here.

I agree that no user, including mods, should post after a thread is locked. I wouldn't view it as an abuse of power - more likely a mistake. Otherwise we are agreed.

Re: Moderator Abuse of Power
I agree with the OP here.
A TLF Conundrum: A thread is "Locked". So when is a "Locked" thread not Locked?

The OP originally asked a question about the queues that has now been answered so this thread is now locked.

We didn't. We voted for sovereignty. Geddit? C.

I did say the title was a bit OTT

Re: Moderator Abuse of Power
No I'm not saying that. It is an unfortunate feature of the board software that the quote feature allows users to post on a locked thread. At least I am pretty sure that is the case. I would ask all users and moderators not to exploit this loophole

Eh? By the quote feature I take it you mean the " button at the top right of posts, yes? If so, well that button isn't present in locked threads. At least not for us mere mortals (non-moderators)....

Yes that's the button I meant. If you can't see it then that means the loophole has been largely fixed. I as an Admin can still see it so perhaps Mods can. None of this is planned this way. That's the way the board software works. There is no conspiracy and no special treatment for Mods.

Re: Moderator Abuse of Power
I've agreed with your basic point, removed the offending post and explained that there is no special treatment or permissions for Moderators in this regard. Once a thread is locked that should be it.
Having addressed all the points I'll lock this topic. Thanks for pointing it out.
