The death rate of the circulating coronavirus will unlikely be clear until after the pandemic has passed. Experts have previously estimated the fatality rate at 1% to 2%.

... similar to the Spanish flu a century ago for its first wave (two years).

Mers is said to kill more than a third (35%) of patients

... similar to the second wave of the Spanish flu, where over a third of those contracting it in the morning drowned in their own blood later the same day.

I desperately hope that we're near the end rather than just at the end of the beginning :cry:
