Dipped my toe in today. Fear of missing out on a good thing. Lets see what happens!

As you have announced it to the world, would you be kind enough to provide a brief investment case?

Thanks,

Thanks for the honesty, I hope you're a very little fool. ;-)

I just noticed a news item that Ethereum has dropped from a height of $1,353 in January to just over $200 today.

Did you sell, or are you still holding, and if you are still holding do you anticipate a recovery or a further decline?

I have a work associate who 'invested' a sizeable chunk of the proceeds from his house sale in electroneum*, last January, at 18 US cents. It's currently trading at 2.2 cents, and as recently as mid-September it was down to 0.5 cents. Not even the 12% daily rises that he's seen on some days since then have been able to put the smile back on his face. The clown.

ISTR that, earlier this year, a couple of American banks had a try at estimating the "true, fair value" of bitcoin, taking into account its popularity, its liquidity, its "money supply" rarity and its fungibility as a currency you could actually buy things with. One bank, I think, came up with $2,200, and the other $2,600 or thereabouts. Think I'll give BTC a miss for the time being.

BJ

(*Technical note: as far as I can tell, electroneum appears to be a currency that's been designed entirely for use in online gambling. The risk, therefore, could presumably be expressed as gambling squared. Are you wearing your lucky underwear, punk?)

As there is no reply, perhaps it was used just as fun money? Fair enough.

At least with Tulip bulbs there was something physical and tulips can look quite pretty.
