Greek Wines
Hello All,
Does anyone know of a decent Greek wine (white or red) that they could recommend?
It will be a present for an oenophile and ideally cost less than £30.
TIA.

Where are you wanting to buy it from - supermarket or wine merchants?
For red I'd probably stick to a varietal Xinomavro and for white Assyrtiko. Greek wine is quite a specialised area so if you want a really good example (and you can get a very good one within your price range) for your oenophile I'd visit a good local independent wine merchant and steer clear of the £10 bottles from supermarkets.
All the best, Si

Re: Greek Wines
Actually, cut that. For a wine geek make the red a Limnio if you want to impress. Will definitely need to go to a wine merchant though.

OK he recommends this one;

I am no expert (and nectar to some is battery acid to others)

Thanks AC. Would he happen to know if it is available in the UK? It's not obvious to me from a cursory look through the website.

Re: Greek Wines
No idea, you'd have to search online I guess.
I'm afraid my wine buying is limited to supermarkets, and Tanner's back home

This looks similar but £10 delivery gets you to £35:

Re: Greek Wines
If you can make it down to the arches in Bermondsey... Maltby & Greek have a really good selection:
